I just went to the recycling center this morning to dump some old oil and filters. On the oil tanks, they have these metal mesh screens to catch debris and whatnot. Everytime I go there, there is stuff all over the screen that is clearly not oil (motor oil only; no trans, hydraulics, cooking oil). Sometimes looks like people pour liquified food waste in there.

that’s pretty classy by sask standards, I’ve seen more than one person empty their oil into a milk crate with a garbage bag in it, then toss the bag.

Not all places care if you mix different oils (including cooking oil) as it is all just turned into heating oil. Ignoring the signage and dumping whatever is obviously an asshole move.
